Just In: FCT Police Rescue Bwari Kidnapped Victims

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has announced the successful rescue of the Bwari kidnapped victims.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh who announced the development in a statement on Sunday said, the victims have been reunited with their families.

She said, it took the relentless advancement of the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping squad, in concerted efforts with troops of the Nigerian Army to rescue the victims from the kidnappers that struck the Zuma 1 area in the Bwari Area Council on January 2, 2024.

SP Adeh said, the operatives accomplished the task near Kajuru forest in Kaduna state around 11:30 pm on Saturday, January 20, 2024.

According to her, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Haruna G. Garba, appreciated the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Egbetokun, for deploying the newly commissioned Special Intervention Squad, which he said, has uplifted the existing security architecture of the FCT and fostered public confidence.

She said, “CP Haruna Garba emphasizes the command’s commitment to sustaining robust security deployment in the area and other parts of the FCT for the utmost maintenance of peace for all.
