Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two armed robbery suspects along Layeni Ojo Road, Ajegunle.
Disclosing this in a statement, the state Command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin said the suspects were arrested on Tuesday, following a series of public complaints about armed robbery incidents in the area.
The suspects: Azeez Anofi, a.k.a. Stainless and Damilare Obadia, both aged 25, had attempted to snatch a tricycle, popularly known as Keke Marwa.
Recovered from the Susie ta were one locally made pistol and one expended cartridge, even as further investigation has commenced to arrest other suspects and recover other operational weapons.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, while commending the swift response of the officers, urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police for appropriate actions.
