NAF Special Forces Kill Terrorist Kingpin, Others In Kaduna

Operatives of the Nigerian Air Force Special Forces, 413 Force Protection Group have neutralised terrorist kingpin, Mustapha Abdullahi, and five members of his group at Igabi Local Government Area in Kaduna State, Northwest, Nigeria.

Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, in a statement said the feat was achieved following intelligence report received by the troops.

According to him, the kingpin was sighted near Sabon Gida Forest along Sabon Birni Road in Igabi Local Government Area (LGA), Kaduna State with likely intent to kidnap, harm or kill innocent civilians.

He said the Special Forces team dispatched to comb the location, made contact with the terrorists who were on motor cycles. On sighting the Special Forces, the terrorists immediately opened fire and were met with superior fire power by the troops, eliminating all the terrorists.

Items recovered from the terrorists included 5 dane guns, locally fabricated sub-machine gun, and live ammunition.

Others include assorted charms, lighters, sim cards and phone cases.

Efforts by the troops to rid Igabi, Birnin Gwari and environs of criminals and their activities remain ongoing, Gabkwet said, adding that the troops were commended and urged to intensify ongoing efforts to safeguard lives and properties.
