Comic Actor, Odira Nwobu, Dies In South Africa

Nollywood is in grief today as their beloved actor and content creator, Odira Nwobu, popularly known as “Joseph The Dreamer,” passed away in his hotel room in South Africa, aged 44.

His death was announced by the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, in an interview with Linda Ikeji’s Blog (LIB) on Monday.

Emeka Rollas, narrated that Odira and eight other influencers travelled to South Africa for work when he suddenly passed away on Monday, November 24.

According to Rollas in the interview, he said an autopsy is yet to be conducted to ascertain the exact cause of his death.

The 44-year-old comic actor, who was celebrated for his humor and skits, left behind a legacy of laughter in his personal triumphs and tragedies.

His fellow content creator, Awuzie Frankline, also confirmed the news on Facebook, with a heartbreaking video showing Nwobu unresponsive.

In hiscaption, he said: ” God Why! ODIRA why leave us…  The Call I received now was not a goodone”.

He posted another video saying: “You were full of life even some hours ago in South Africa and you even had your thanksgiving service just a few months ago.”
