Former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi has extended his warm felicitations to the Muslim community across the country as they mark this year’s Maulud Nabi celebration, describing the life of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) as “an invaluable example of compassion, justice, humility, honesty, and service to humanity.”
In his message commemorating the occasion, Obi said he joined “millions of Muslims in Nigeria and around the world in celebrating the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).”
He noted that the teachings of the Prophet remain relevant to contemporary society, stating that they “continue to guide us toward peace, tolerance, and the pursuit of the common good.”
Reflecting on the significance of the sacred day, Obi prayed for divine guidance for Nigerians to emulate the Prophet’s example.
“I pray that Allah (SWT) grants us the wisdom to follow the noble path of the Prophet; a path of unity, fairness, and love for one another, regardless of tribe, religion, or region,” he said.
Obi, who is the 2027 presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), further expressed hope that the celebration would usher in renewed hope and national progress.
“May this Maulud bring renewed hope, peace, and progress to our nation. May Allah bless Nigeria, protect our people, and guide our leaders to serve with sincerity and justice,” he added.
The leader rounded off his message with well wishes for the Muslim faithful, saying: “I wish the entire Muslim Ummah a joyful, peaceful, and spiritually uplifting Maulud Nabi.”
