By Stella Enenche, Abuja
The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC),Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has said performance evaluation of staff in civil service is very critical to their career progression.
He made this assertion in Abuja on Wednesday while addressing staff of the Commission during the 2024 promotion examination.
The Bishop said promotion of officers from one grade level to another helps galvanise and spur them to put in their best in their various duty posts.
He affirmed that promotion examinations are a normal exercise in the civil service and that it is in the character of his administration to ensure that staff are motivated.
The cleric admonished them not to befound wanting in the examination but to approach it with maturity. He urged them not to entertain any fear, as he expect them to come out in flying colors.
Adegbite further enjoined candidates for the promotion examination to have the fear of God in their hearts. “There isnothing you can do without God, as with God, all things are possible.”
About 33 senior staff of the Commission participated in the 2024 promotion examination exercise.
This is the first promotion examination to be conducted under the leadership of Bishop Adegbite, since assumption of office on February 5, 2024, as the 4th substantive Executive Secretary of the Commission.
