President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Vice President Kashim Shettima on his 60th birthday, describing him as a trusted partner and patriot whose life has been defined by service, commitment and sacrifice.
In a statement issued Tuesday ahead of Shettima’s birthday on Wednesday, September 2, Tinubu extended goodwill to the Vice President’s wife, Nana, their children, family and political associates on the milestone.
The President celebrated Shettima’s distinguished banking career and record of service to Borno State and Nigeria, commending his tenure first as Governor of Borno State and subsequently as Vice-President of the Federal Republic.
He said Shettima had demonstrated courage, diligence and compassion in both roles, with an abiding commitment to improving the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
Tinubu specifically acknowledged Shettima’s loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and his dedication to the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He noted the Vice President’s leadership as Chairman of the National Economic Council, where he has coordinated economic policy and fostered collaboration between the Federal Government and sub-national governments.
The President praised Shettima’s respect for constitutional governance, democratic institutions and consultation, saying these qualities had helped strengthen good governance in the country.
Describing Shettima as an invaluable partner, Tinubu thanked him for his steadfast support in delivering on the promises of the Renewed Hope Agenda and expressed confidence that the two would continue making progress together.
On behalf of the Federal Government, the President prayed for Shettima’s continued guidance, protection and strength, wishing him wisdom, good health and many more years of purposeful service to Nigeria.
