Rainfall: TCN Reschedules Upgrade Of 132KV Power Transmission Line In Sagamu

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) said it has rescheduled ongoing upgrade of the dual construction of the 132 kilovolts (KV) power transmission line in Sagamu town of Ogun State of the continuous rainfall.

The General Manager, Public Affairs at TCN, Ndidi Mbah, disclosed this in Lagos. TCN had earlier announced an outage in the Ikorodu axis of Lagos State between July 2 and July 7 to do the upgrade.

The company had in February flagged off the upgrading process using high capacity conductors for the power lines to improve the bulk power wheeling capacity for onward distribution to customers by the Distribution Companies (DisCos).

“Our team of engineers began the upgrade on July 2 and was supposed to have completed it by July 7 but could not due to heavy and persistent rainfall.

“So, we have rescheduled the completion of the upgrade to another time when the weather will be more safe and friendly,” she noted.

The spokesperson also said affected places will receive power supply today after the power line is re-energized following the upgrade rescheduling.

“We regret the inconveniences this may have caused the residents in the affected locations.”
