The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has notified the general public to disregard contents of a flyer with details of the approved new rates for national drivers’ licence and vehicle number plates.
The Corps’ Public Relations Officer, Olusegun Ogungbemide, in a statement on Thursday stated that this is due to the “Joint Tax Board (JTB) logo which was added in error”.
TheFact Daily recalls that the FRSC had recently introduced new tariffs, which it said was aimed at improving service delivery to the public, adding that the rates are necessitated by the current economic realities that have affected the overall cost of production.
The tariff increase followed the 155th meeting of the JTB, which approved an upward review of the rates of the national drivers’ license and vehicle number plates.
JTB said it was to enhance the seamless production process and improve quality service to the motoring public. The new rates were to take effect from November 1 2024.
The FRSC had released a flyer on the new approved rates, but which bore the JTB logo, hence its recall by the FRSC.
“Further information on the revised rates would be made available to the public in due course. The Corps regrets any inconveniences caused by the release”, Ogungbemide stated.
