The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has signed its Performance Bond Contract, aligning with the Ministry of Interior’s reform agenda under the Renewed Hope vision of President Bola Tinubu.
The Service in a post on Thursday, described the signing as “a major stride toward institutional accountability and measurable service delivery”.
The Performance Bond outlines a comprehensive implementation roadmap for the full deployment of the Service’s Performance Management System (PMS) across its eight Directorates. It details specific targets, timelines, responsibilities, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring clear deliverables and structured evaluation. The agreement was formalized during the closing session of a three-day capacity-building workshop organized by Zimedy Services Limited.
Earlier, the Controller General of Corrections, Sylvester Nwakuche, alongside other agency heads under the Ministry of Interior, had signed an institutional Performance Bond with the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, during the recent Ministerial Retreat in Suleja, Abuja.
This latest phase extends that commitment to the Directorate level, reinforcing alignment, enforcement, and accountability throughout the NCoS leadership structure.
During the roadmap presentation, CG Nwakuche affirmed that the Service is fully embracing the Ministry’s performance-driven governance culture. He pledged strict adherence to the bond, strengthened internal monitoring, adoption of modern data-based performance tools, and a renewed focus on results-driven correctional management.
“The signing marks a strategic milestone in NCoS’s modernization efforts, emphasizing transparency, enhanced work ethics, measurable productivity, and improved service delivery”, the Service stated.
