TCN Announces Power Outage In Karu, Nyanya, Mararaba, Others

By Sunday Etuka

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has said a fault on the Apo Karu 132kV Transmission Line is responsible for the loss of electricity supply to Karu, Nyanya, Kugbo, Jikwoyi, Kurudu, Orozo, Karshi, Mararaba and adjoining areas.

According to TCN, the line tripped at 5:31pm on Monday, October 12, 2026, leading to a loss of supply to the Karu Transmission Substation.

This left the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company unable to supply power to customers in the affected communities.

TCN said a physical inspection of the line showed a cut jumper on the yellow phase at Tower T2.

The company said its maintenance crew is scheduled to carry out urgent repairs on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, to restore the line to service.

It apologised for the inconvenience caused to affected electricity consumers.
