The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced an annual preventive maintenance on Gwarimpa-Kubwa 132/33kV Line 1 bay switchgear and associated equipment on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, from 10:00am to 1:00 pm.
Consequently, it said Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) would be unable to offtake power supply to customers in parts of Kubwa, Bwari and environs.
TCN apologised for any inconvenience this maintenance exercise would cause consumers in the affected areas.
Power substation preventive maintenance is a scheduled programme of routine inspections, testing and servicing applied to electrical equipment to stop unexpected failures and extend its life.
It prevents sudden blackouts and ensures a steady flow of electricity, lowers the risk of dangerous electrical arcs, fires, and equipment explosions, and replaces minor worn parts before they cause expensive and catastrophic failures.
