Electricity consumers in Watson Door, Gwagwalada, and neighbouring areas of Abuja will be without power for two hours on Monday, October 5, 2026, as the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) carries out urgent maintenance at its Gwagwalada 132/33kV Transmission Substation.
TCN, in a statement on Sunday stated that the work is scheduled to run from 10:00am to 12:00pm, explaining that its maintenance crews would use the window to connect an earthing reactor to a 60MVA 132/33kV power transformer.
As a result, it said the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) would be unable to take power from the substation to supply its customers in the affected areas throughout the exercise.
TCN has apologised for any inconvenience the outage may cause and thanked consumers for their understanding.
