Electricity customers in parts of Ogun State will experience supply disruptions this week as the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) conducts scheduled maintenance work on two power transformers at its Sagamu Transmission Substation.
TCN said in a statement on Thursday that its maintenance crew began work on the T1 30MVA 132/33kV and T2 30MVA 132/33kV power transformers on Thursday, 3rd September 2026, with the exercise continuing on Friday, 4th September 2026.
It said work would run for seven hours each day, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., as part of the company’s routine annual preventive maintenance programme aimed at ensuring the transformers’ optimal performance and reliability.
As a result, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) is currently unable to draw power from the T1 transformer, affecting supply to REAL and Sagamu.
TCN said customers fed through the T2 transformer, including CEPLASS, NNPC/Ogijo, Metafrique and Babcock, will also lose supply on Friday during the maintenance window.
The company has apologised to affected customers for the inconvenience the exercise may cause.
