Tinubu Clears N18.4bn Life Insurance Backlog For Deceased Soldiers

President Bola Tinubu has approved the payment of N18.4bn to clear the backlog of life insurance for deceased soldiers in the country which has been outstanding since 2011.

The approval was disclosed by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja during his visit to the 82 Division of the Nigerian Army in Enugu on Tuesday.

This is coming barely five days after clearing over N12 billion backlog of salaries and allowances for Nigeria National teams.

The N18.4bn payment which is expected to address the challenges faced by the families of deceased soldiers in Nigeria,  is also a great morale booster for the Nigerian Military.
