Tinubu Emerges APC Presidential Candidate, Set To Receive Certificate Of Return

President Bola Tinubu is set to be formally presented with the All Progressives Congress (APC) certificate of return and presidential flag on Sunday, confirming his status as the party’s candidate for the 2027 general elections.
The presentation ceremony will take place at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja, following the nationwide collation of results from the party’s presidential primary election.
According to a statement issued late on Saturday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the APC’s Presidential Primary Elections Committee would conduct the formal handover of both the certificate and the party’s flag to the President at the event.
The occasion is expected to draw a high-powered gathering of APC stakeholders, including the party’s governors, members of the National Executive Committee (NEC), the National Working Committee (NWC), National Assembly members, and other party stalwarts from across the country.
The development signals the ruling party’s early move to consolidate behind its incumbent ahead of what is expected to be a keenly contested 2027 electoral cycle.
