When Women Thrive, Our Society Thrives -Sanwo-Olu Says

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has expressed his administration’s commitment to supporting every woman in Lagos, stating that when women thrive, the society thrives.

Sanwo-Olu stated this while addressing the women gathered at Onikan Stadium, Lagos on Friday, March 8, 2024, to mark International Women’s Day.

He reaffirmed his administration’s pledge to create more opportunities, dismantle barriers, and ensure that every woman and girl in Lagos has the support she needs to reach her full potential.

The governor said, “it was an honour to host this grand event, bringing together women from every corner of Lagos State in a celebration of unity, diversity, and empowerment”.

He said, “seeing the stadium filled with so many inspiring women, each with her own story of resilience, achievement, and hope, was a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish together.

“We celebrated not just the progress we’ve made, but also the journey ahead towards full equality and empowerment for all women.

“To the incredible women of Lagos, thank you for your courage, your dedication, and your invaluable contributions to our state. Let’s continue to stand together, support each other, and work towards a brighter, more inclusive future”, he said.
