Yuletide: NNPC Assures Fuel Sufficiency, Discourages Panic Buying

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd has assured of fuel sufficiency through out the festive period, therefore, appealed to motorists not to engage in panic buying.

NNPC while expressing its appreciation to Nigerians for always heeding its advisories not to engage in panic buying of petrol, assures that it has product sufficiency that would last far beyond the festive period.

TheFact Nigeria observed that there has been artificial scarcity of the product created by the oil marketers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, thus have succeded in jacking up the price above the government approved price.

However, the Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, NNPC, Garba Deen Muhammad in a statement said, the company has over two billion litres in its stock, therefore, there was no need for panic buying.

“Indeed, our stock has risen from a reserve of 1.7 billion litres to over two billion litres within the last one month.

“Thus, we once again urge Nigerians not to engage in panic buying but to fully enjoy the spirit of the festive season as we continue to work tirelessly to ensure sufficient supply of petrol to every part of the country.

“Once again the NNPC extends sincere appreciations to all Nigerians for your understanding and support.

“We wish you all happy celebrations”, the statement said.
