Nigerian Navy Announces Demise Of Ex-CNS Ishaya Ibrahim

The Nigerian Navy has announced the passing on to glory of a former Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ishaya Iko Ibrahim (rtd) CFR.

According to a statement issued by the NN’s Director of Information, DINFO, Commodore Suleiman Dahun, the sad event occured in Tuesday, 4 January, 2022.

TheFact Nigeria reports that the erstwhile Navy Chief who was also Chairman, Board of the National Inland Waterways Authority, was in active Service for 35 years.

The late Ex-CNS served the nation in various capacities, prominent among which was his active involvement in the ECOMOG Operation LIBERTY in Liberia, during which he commanded the Nigerian Navy Ship OFIOM and Nigerian Navy Ship AMBE respectively.

Thereafter, he served as the Deputy Defence Attaché in Cotonou, Republic of Benin. The late Admiral was also the Chief of Logistics, Naval Headquarters and later Flag Officer Commanding, Western Naval Command. He was the Flag Officer Commanding, Naval Training Command before his appointment as the Eighteenth Chief of the Naval Staff.

Burial arrangements for late Ibtahim would be communicated in due course. He was aged 69.
