Police In Delta Repel Attack On Bullion Van

Police operatives in Delta State have successfully repelled an attack by hoodlums, on a bullion van.

The State Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe disclosed this Thursday in a statement made available to the press.

TheFact Nigeria gathers that the policemen were on UBA Special Escort from Warri to Asaba at about 10:45am when they were ambushed by about ten heavily armed hoodlums in two Seinna Vehicles along Ughelli/Ozoro Expressway, Otor-Owhe.

A gun duel followed, during which, one of the Police escorts and the driver of the van were injured. Fortunately, no lives were lost, although some of the attackers were fatally injured and were taken away by thier gang members. It is noted that the van was empty, as it was on its way to Asaba to get cash back to Warri.

The bullion van has since been recovered and taken to the police station, even as the incident is currently being investigated, and a manhunt ongoing for the attackers.
