Troops Foil Attempted Attack On Bama
Troops of the Nigerian Army, NA, have foiled attempts by Boko Haram fighters to attack Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.
According to a Twitter post on 7 August, from a counter-insurgency network, Zagazola Makama Media Network, @ZMNetworkNG, the terrorists made an attempt to attack the town located about 45 miles southeast of the Borno state capital, Maiduguri, at about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday.
The troops’ response with heavy fire power forced the terrorists to withdraw and abandon their mission.
An anonymous military source said, “an attack by a band of terrorists on parts of Bama was this morning quelled by the Nigerian troops.
“There is no cause for alarm. We chased them and troops are currently in pursuit of the fleeing terrorists”.
