President Bola Tinubu has given orders that the national flags throughout the country be flown at half-mast, in honour of the late Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, in a statement signed on his behalf by Mr Segun Imohiosen, Director, Information and Public Relations Office of SGF (OSGF), said the president gave the directive on Wednesday.
TheFact Daily recalls that the Presidency had, earlier today, announced the passing of the late Army Chief, which incident occured in Lagos on Tuesday after a brief illness.
“The President has directed that National Flags be flown at half-mast throughout the country for seven days in honour of the departed Army Chief,” Akume said.
He conveyed the president’s appreciation for the services of the late COAS and wished the family the fortitude to bear the great loss.
