The Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation, and the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) have expressed determination to collaboratively tackle water challenges at some Airforce Bases in the country.
Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Prof. Jospeh Utsev announced this on Tuesday when he received the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar in his office in Abuja.
Prof. Utsev who described water as key to the smooth operation of troops, announced that a technical team would be despatched immediately to some of the Air Force Bases in the country that have water needs to carry out a holistic assessment of the existing water plants for intervention in order to serve officers and men of the Nigerian Air Force better.
Utsev, in a statement by his Personal Assistant on Media and Publicity, Terhemen Oraduen, acknowledged the contributions of the Nigerian Air force and other military formations in the country in safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity over the years and assured him of sustained synergy and support at all times.
Earlier, the Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar explained that the visit was to appeal to the Minister to intervene in the water challenges facing some of the Air Force Bases in Gombe, Kaduna and Bayelsa to enhance their operations.
