The International Centre for Hydropower in Norway has sought collaborations in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).
The delegation led by the Managing Director, Line Amlund Hagen, supported by the Regional Director, Africa Carole Rosenlund, paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) on Monday in that regard.
NERC in a statement posted on official X handle on Tuesday, said the team highlighted their strength in promoting capacity building for renewable energy, especially hydropower, while delivering other sector-specific training programmes.
It said the delegation also noted that the Centre would collaborate with stakeholders in the Nigerian power sector to optimise that.
According to the Commission, its Commissioner for Research and Data Analytics, Dr. Yusuf Ali, while making his remarks, stated that the NERC is at the heart of the power sector and provides a one-stop shop for promoting developmental initiatives for the NESI.
He emphasized the Commission’s openness to any fruitful collaborations that could improve power sector indices.
