UBEC Partners NAF To Enhance School Safety

The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) has expressed its full readiness to partner with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to ensure safer school environment across the country.

Garba, who lauded the Air Force’s contribution to national development, lamented that issue of safety in schools had become one of the biggest concerns, noting that no education system can thrive without safety, and no security framework was complete without education

“At UBEC, we know that giving every Nigerian child access to quality basic education is not something we can achieve alone.

“It requires collaboration, shared commitment, and strong partnerships across institutions,” she said.

The UBEC boss reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to technical cooperation that improves school safety, learning quality and system resilience.

According to her, collaboration with NAF would better protect schools, reassure parents and create environment where children can learn without fear.

“At UBEC, we know that giving every Nigerian child access to quality basic education is not something we can achieve alone. It requires collaboration, shared commitment, and strong partnerships across institutions.

“The issues of safety in our schools has become one of our biggest concerns. We can build classrooms and provide learning materials, but children cannot learn and the teachers cannot give their best when they feel unsafe,” she stated.

In his remark, the The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, highlighted the value of the Nigerian Air Force’s partnership with the Commission.

He disclosed that the Air Force has quality control and evaluators to ensure that their educational standards meet future world aspirations for the children.

He noted that basic education is seen as the foundation for building discipline, innovation, civic responsibility, and national cohesion.

He therefore requested for teachers to be included in UBEC-supported professional development programs to enhance their skills.

The Air chief underscored the role of education in building a stable and productive society, aligning with the President’s renewed hope agenda.
