The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) and the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) have commemorated the 2026 edition of the International Workers’ Day celebration with novelty match.
The match organized by the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) was to promote unity, teamwork, healthy living, and staff well-being across both organisations.
Played in a lively and friendly atmosphere, showcased impressive teamwork, skill, and sportsmanship from both sides, with TCN emerging victorious at the final whistle with a 5–3 win over NISO.
The event underscored the importance of strengthening workplace relationships beyond formal settings, reinforcing both organisations’ shared commitment to collaboration, employee engagement, and healthy living.
In attendance were management staff from both organisations, including Executive Director, Transmission Service Provider (TCN), Engr. Oluwagbenga Ajiboye; Executive Director, Finance & Accounts (TCN), Mr. Chuks Ochijie; and General Manager, Engineering (TCN), Engr. Mojeed Akintola.
Also present were Executive Director, Finance & Corporate Services (NISO), Mr. Ibironke Babajide; General Manager, Human Resources (NISO), Mrs. Tijanni Halima; and General Manager, Legal Services (NISO), Barr. Bashiru Mohammed, alongside other members of staff from both companies.
