TCN, NISO Deepen Ties To Boost Power Transmission, Grid Reliability

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) and the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) have strengthened collaboration to ensure reliable power supply to Nigerians.

This commitment was reinforced recently when the General Manager, (Transmission), Kano Region, Engr. M. K. Bello, received the Managing Director of the NISO, Engr. Muhammed Bello, at the Regional Office, on a courtesy visit.

Speaking during the visit, Engr. M. K. Bello, expressed his sincere appreciation to the NISO Managing Director, for the courtesy visit and the cordial work relationship between the two organisations.

He commended NISO for its unwavering support and strong partnership, noting that the agency had consistently responded promptly and provided necessary cooperation whenever TCN required operational assistance.

The TCN Kano Region GM assured NISO of TCN Kano Region’s readiness to sustain the existing partnership and continue providing the operational support required to achieve the objectives of the electricity market reform.

In his remarks, the NISO MD, Engr. A. M. Bello expressed appreciation to the Region’s Management Team for the formal handover of the former TCN Regional Office to NISO, describing it as a significant milestone and a clear demonstration of the cordial and mutually beneficial relationship between both companies.

He reaffirmed NISO’s commitment to sustaining close collaboration with TCN in the collective pursuit of a stable, reliable, and efficient national electricity grid.

He noted that seamless coordination between system operations and transmission infrastructure is critical to grid security and stability, adding that continued cooperation remains essential to improving power system operations and enhancing electricity service delivery nationwide.
