The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) has commended the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) for its leadership and transparent evaluation process, while receiving a delegation of innovators recently honoured by the agency.
Mr. Yusuf Usman of NASENI Headquarters emerged in first position for NASENI MART, a digital e-commerce marketplace built with multi lingual capabilities to connect consumers directly to indigenous engineering products.
Mr. Benjamin Nweke of NASENI ELDI Awka, took second position for his innovation, the Construction of a Solar Powered Standalone Cooking Station for Food Vendor Empowerment, which provides clean, affordable and reliable cooking energy to food vendors.
Engr. Mikairu Aminu Abu of NASENI NSEL Karshi, placed third for the Design and Development of an Off Grid Solar Powered Cassava Dryer, an innovation aimed at improving post harvest preservation and boosting rural farm incomes.
NASENI, in a statement on Tuesday, said the SGF praised the ingenuity displayed by the public servants and assured the agency of the Federal Government’s total support in ensuring these home grown engineering innovations receive the necessary backing to drive Nigeria’s industrial transformation.
