His two terms in office, which ended in 2015, placed him at the centre of the state’s political and developmental journey, the President said.

According to him, Uduaghan pursued strides aimed at improving infrastructure, healthcare delivery and the general welfare of Deltans during his time as governor.

The President added that even after leaving office, the late politician remained a prominent figure in Delta’s political and socio-economic landscape, contributing to the sustenance of democratic governance and the advancement of public service in Nigeria.

He described his death as a great loss to his family, community, Delta State and the country.

Tinubu urged the people of Delta State to draw strength from the late governor’s years of service and the enduring relationships he built across the country’s political and social terrain.

On behalf of his family, the government and the people of Nigeria, the President extended condolences to the deceased’s wife, Roli; his children; his cousin, former Governor James Ibori; and friends and political associates.

“May Almighty God grant his soul eternal rest and comfort all who mourn him,” he prayed.
