By Sunday Etuka
Grand Patron of PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has mobilised support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in Gombe State, with 26 vehicles for grassroots campaign.
Tompolo, represented by Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Limited, Kestin Pondi, inaugurated Gombe State chapter of movement, saying vehicles and other campaign materials would facilitate door-to-door campaigns across the state.
He said the movement would mobilise voters for Tinubu through grassroots strategy covering communities, local government areas, religious institutions and other public spaces to communicate achievements of administration and secure another term.
According to him, the movement would work with Gombe State Government to identify communities and locations where campaign activities would be most effective.
Tompolo commended Governor Inuwa Yahaya for infrastructure development in the state, particularly road construction, saying projects reflected benefits of funds made available to states following removal of petrol subsidy.
He urged the governor to provide movement with necessary guidance and enabling environment to achieve mobilisation objectives.
In his remarks, Governor Yahaya thanked Tompolo and the movement for the vehicles and campaign materials, declaring that All Progressives Congress (APC) was united and committed to securing Tinubu re-election.
The Governor said the President’s support had facilitated major development projects in Gombe including road construction and agricultural initiatives.
Yahaya disclosed that the state was implementing agricultural development programme targeting farmers, herders, processors and young people with support from N130 billion grant approved by President Tinubu.
He said the removal of petrol subsidy although painful had created fiscal space for governments to mobilise resources for development.

Yahaya, who is the chairman of Northern Governors Forum, said APC enjoyed substantial support among governors in region and expressed confidence in Tinubu’s return to office in 2027.
Earlier, the National Coordinator of PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Sunday Asuku, urged Gombe residents to support Tinubu, describing the administration as committed to development across the six geopolitical zones.
Asuku cited establishment of development commissions for different regions and restoration of local government financial autonomy as measures demonstrating the President’s commitment to inclusive governance.
He urged voters not to be swayed by opposition parties and called on Gombe residents to support Tinubu for second term.
