Residents of Lafia should expect disruptions to movement on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, as the Nasarawa State Police Command has barricaded some streets and diverted traffic in parts of the state capital ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Rally, which President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to attend.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Rahman Namsel, said in a statement that the rally is expected to draw top government functionaries, political leaders, dignitaries from across the country, APC faithful, supporters and other important personalities to Lafia.
He explained that the command has put in place comprehensive security and traffic management measures to protect the President and his entourage, rally participants and members of the public, and to maintain peace, law and order before, during and after the event.
According to the statement, the temporary traffic diversions and movement restrictions will cover designated routes, adjoining roads and strategic locations within the metropolis.
The Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, Shettima Jauro Mohamed, appealed to residents to remain calm, be patient and show understanding throughout the period.
