Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia has extended warm congratulations to Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as she marks her 66th birthday, praising her sustained commitment to humanitarian service across the country.
In a felicitation message on Monday, Governor Alia described the First Lady as a compassionate leader whose dedication has brought tangible change to the lives of Nigerians, particularly through the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).
He noted that the programme has reached women, youths, widows, orphans, senior citizens and other vulnerable groups with a range of targeted interventions.
The Governor singled out her economic empowerment efforts, especially initiatives supporting petty traders and small-scale entrepreneurs, which he said have helped many Nigerian households strengthen their livelihoods.
He also highlighted her contributions to healthcare and education, citing medical outreaches, support for communities affected by violence, assistance to the elderly, maternal health campaigns, promotion of the HPV vaccine, and efforts to improve menstrual hygiene for schoolgirls.
Governor Alia, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, specifically commended her humanitarian support for communities in Benue and elsewhere affected by armed herdsmen attacks, describing her interventions as a demonstration of genuine investment in Nigeria’s human capital.
He added that her advocacy for keeping girls in school, expanding youth opportunities and promoting skills acquisition reflects a lasting commitment to national development, particularly for women, youths and children.
The Governor prayed for God’s continued guidance and blessings upon the First Lady, wishing her good health, wisdom, strength and continued fulfilment in her service to the nation.
