The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has commenced rehabilitation work on four towers vandalized along the Afam-IPP–Elelenwo 132kV Double-Circuit Transmission Line, the company has announced.
According to a statement by TCN Management on Monday, the vandalism was discovered on August 6, 2026, by the company’s lines engineers from the Port Harcourt Region.
Towers T50 to T53 were affected, with their tower members removed and carted away by the vandals.
TCN noted that this marks the fifth vandalism attack recorded on the same line in recent times.
The company said that as rehabilitation work progresses, it is calling on all stakeholders to join hands in curbing the menace, which it described as a threat to the stability of the national grid.
