TheFact Nigeria recalls that the Police Chief had, late last month, ordered the posting and redeployment of twenty-four Assistant Inspectors General of Police, AIGs, whom he had just then promoted and decorated, to various Zonal Commands and formations. This was in line with the new Nigeria Police Manpower Development Policy, which he said was aimed at identifying, elevating and positioning professionally competent officers to respond to emerging current security threats in the country.
