By Stella Enenche, Abuja
The Federal High Court in Abuja has struck out the eight-count charge filed against Adeniyi Adeyemi, accused of parading himself as Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).
Justice Mohammed Garba Umar struck out the charge on Monday following an application by the Director of Public Prosecutions of the Federation, Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN.
Oyedepo said the Attorney-General of the Federation had reviewed the case and identified loopholes in the charge, adding that the alleged document forgery offences fell within the jurisdiction of the FCT High Court.
He told the court that a fresh charge had been filed at the FCT High Court, where Adeyemi would be arraigned afresh.
Defence counsel, Ibrahim Angulu, SAN, did not oppose the application.
Adeyemi, 38, was charged alongside two other defendants, identified as Femi and Anu, who are reportedly at large. The case involved allegations of conspiracy and forgery.
