FAAN Lists Approved Payment Channels At Airport Access Gates

By Stella Enenche, Abuja

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has listed the approved payment channels available at its airport access gates as part of efforts to ensure smooth and efficient vehicular movement.

FAAN disclosed this on Tuesday in a public notice shared on its X handle.

The authority said the options were introduced to enhance seamless entry into airport premises, particularly following the rollout of its cashless policy at major gateways.

According to FAAN, motorists can make payments using the FAAN Go-Cashless Card, described as the fastest and most convenient option for accessing the gates.

Frequent airport users are also encouraged to utilise the E-Tag system, which enables automatic deductions without requiring vehicles to stop, thereby reducing congestion and wait times.

The authority further stated that VIP Stickers remain valid for authorised vehicles with approved access clearance.
For motorists who may not yet have the dedicated cards or tags, FAAN said ATM and debit card payments via Point of Sale (POS) terminals are available on-site.

However, it cautioned that transaction processing time may vary depending on banking network connectivity.

FAAN advised road users to obtain and preload their Go-Cashless Cards ahead of travel to minimise delays and facilitate quicker passage through the airport access points.

The move, the authority noted, is part of broader efforts to improve operational efficiency, reduce cash handling, and align with the Federal Government’s cashless policy directive.
