The Supreme Court has affirmed the election of Alex Otti as the duly Governor of Abia State.
This was following the lead judgement delivered by Justice Uwani Abba-Aji of the apex court.
In the judgement, the court ruled that the nomination of Alex Otti by the Labour Party (LP) as its candidate was purely a political party affair, therefore, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) did not have the right to question such decision.
The court consequently, dismissed as lacking merit the appeals by the PDP and its governorship candidate, Okey Ahiwe, and Ikechi Emenike of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
