Kagara Abduction: Senate Urges Buhari To Declare State Of Emergency

The Senate at its plenary today, urged President Muhammadu Buhari to declare a state of emergency on insecurity, following the abduction of 27 students, three staff and 12 family members by gunmen at the Government Science College, Kagara, in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger state.

The decision was the outcome of a point of order moved by Senator Sani Musa representing Niger East on the kidnap of school children from Government Science Secondary School, Kagara, Niger State.

TheFact Nigeria had earlier reported that unknown gunmen had stormed the school in the early hours of Wednesday, and carted the students away, having overpowered and killed the security guards on duty.

Reacting to the motion moved by his colleague, Mohammed Bima Enagi, representing Niger South, was furious about the worsening state of insecurity, and lampooned the incompetence of the government to effectively tackle he menace crippling the nation.
