Lokpobiri Attributes Oil Sector Transformation To Workers’ Dedication, Resilience
By Sunday Etuka, Abuja

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, has attributed the transformation in the oil sector to the unwavering dedication of workers, who labour tirelessly to translate policy into measurable progress.
Senator Lokpobiri, while celebrating the workers on the occasion of the International Workers’ Day, in a statement posted on his X handle on Thursday, stated that the gains the nation is seeking – sustainability, transparency, and growth – are only attainable because of their commitment and resilience.
“To everyone in the energy sector, and to those in supporting industries whose roles intersect with this strategic national focus, your contribution is invaluable,” he noted.
While saluting the workers’ tenacity, the Minister enjoined them to remain steadfast, as they are not just implementing policy, but shaping the future of a critical sector for national development.
“May you continue in strength and good health, knowing that your sacrifices are seen, your input appreciated, and your welfare a priority to Government.
“Let this occasion renew your confidence in our collective journey and inspire deeper purpose in the work that you do each day for our nation,” he added.
May Day, also called Workers’ Day or International Workers’ Day, is the day set aside to celebrate the resilience, gains and contributions of workers, and labour movement to the growth of a nation. It is often observed in many countries on May 1.
