The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), through the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), has recorded another major counter-terrorism success after precision airstrikes destroyed a terrorist enclave at Yaganari in the Gezuwa general area of Borno State.
In a statement on Saturday by the Service’s Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the strikes were carried out on 10 July 2026, following credible intelligence indicating renewed terrorist activity and the concentration of fighters in the area.
Intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions confirmed the presence of terrorist structures and logistics hubs before the targets were engaged in a series of precision strikes.
According to the NAF, the operation destroyed key terrorist infrastructure and neutralised several fighters, further degrading the group’s ability to regroup and operate.
Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, commended the personnel involved for their professionalism and reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to sustaining relentless offensive operations against terrorist groups.
“The Nigerian Air Force will continue to deliver decisive air power in concert with surface forces to hunt down, disrupt and destroy terrorist elements wherever they may seek refuge. We remain committed to ensuring that terrorists have no safe haven and no opportunity to recover their capabilities,” he said.
Aneke added that the Armed Forces of Nigeria remain firmly on course in consolidating the gains already achieved in the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign.
