Yilwatda Applauds FG, Security Agencies For Safe Release Of Abducted Pupils, Teachers

The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has commended the Federal Government and security agencies for their coordinated efforts that led to the safe release of the abducted pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
In a statement on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Media and Information, Abimbola Tooki, Yilwatda, celebrated the relief brought by the victims’ release after days of anxiety, uncertainty and emotional anguish.
The APC National Chairman described the rescue as a reassuring sign of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of all Nigerians. He credited the successful outcome to close collaboration among security agencies, the Federal Government and the Oyo State Government.
Professor Yilwatda expressed deep sympathy for the victims and their families, acknowledging the immense psychological, emotional and mental trauma they endured during captivity. He prayed for their complete healing and the strength to overcome the ordeal.
He singled out the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), local intelligence networks and other emergency agencies for their gallantry and professionalism, describing the rescue as proof of the value of intelligence sharing and inter-agency cooperation.
The APC Chairman also applauded the Oyo State Government for its cooperation with the Federal Government and security agencies throughout the rescue efforts, noting that the seamless partnership between both levels of government showed that national security transcends political lines and must be pursued in the interest of all Nigerians.
Reaffirming the APC-led Federal Government’s commitment to safeguarding Nigerians, Yilwatda said the Tinubu administration remains focused on strengthening the nation’s security architecture, improving intelligence gathering, and deploying modern technology to deny criminal elements safe haven.
“The safety of Nigerians remains the foremost responsibility of the government. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is leaving no stone unturned in his determination to rid the country of criminality and create a secure environment where every Nigerian can live, work, learn and pursue legitimate livelihoods without fear,” he stated.
Yilwatda urged Nigerians to continue supporting the security agencies by providing credible and timely information capable of preventing criminal activities and aiding ongoing security operations.
He stressed that defeating terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other violent crimes requires collective vigilance and active collaboration between citizens and security institutions.
He reaffirmed the APC’s confidence in the Tinubu administration’s ongoing security reforms and assured Nigerians that government efforts would be intensified until every part of the country is safe and secure.
