Otti Signs N567.2bn 2024 Appropriation Bill Into Law

The Abia State Governor, Alex Otti has signed into law the 2024 Appropriation Bill of N567.2 billion.

Governor Otti who announced this on his X account, said, the budget was aimed at transforming the state from underdevelopment to development.

He said, the budget reflects the state’s commitment to invest in infrastructure, security, education, health, agriculture, and other sectors that would improve the lives and livelihoods of the people.

According to him, 84% of the budget was allocated to capital expenditure, while 16% went to recurrent expenditure, assuring that every kobo borrowed would be used for projects that would generate income and create jobs for the people.

He expressed confidence that the budget would attract foreign and local investors, boost the state’s economy, and prepare it for the next level of development.

He, therefore, urged the people to support the government in the implementation of the budget and to hold it accountable for the delivery of its promises.
