President Bola Tinubu has written to the Senate, Seeking the confirmation of the appointment of Engr. Abdullahi Garba Ramat as Chairman/CEO of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).
The letter was read at the floor of the Senate on Tuesday by the Senate President, Senator Godwill Akpabio.
Recall that in August this year, President Tinubu appointed Engr. Abdullahi Garba Ramat as the new Chairman/CEO, NERC, subject to Senate confirmation.
Engr. Ramat was appointed following the retirement of Engr. Sanusi Garba, who served as the NERC Chairman for the period of five years.
Ramat, 39, is an electrical engineer and administrator, with a PhD in Strategic Management, among other qualifications.
President Tinubu also nominated two commissioners for the NERC.
They are Mr Abubakar Yusuf, Commissioner of Consumer Affairs and Dr Fouad Olayinka Animashun, Commissioner of Finance and Management Services.
