Power Returns To Eket, Uyo, Ikot Ekpene, Others After TCN Finishes Line Maintenance
By Sunday Etuka
Electricity supply has been reinstated to parts of Akwa Ibom after the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) completed annual preventive maintenance on the Uyo/Itu 132kV transmission line on Saturday night.
The announcement was made in a statement issued by TCN Management on Sunday.
TCN said bulk power was restored through the line at about 8:15pm on Saturday. Supply had been interrupted at 10am yesterday so that its maintenance crew could carry out the yearly servicing of the line.
With the line back in service, the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC) can again take electricity for onward distribution to its customers in Eket, Ikot Abasi, Etinan, Ikot Ekpene, Onna and the Uyo Complex.
TCN apologised for any inconvenience the outage may have caused residents of the affected areas.
