Power: TCN Energises New 60MVA Transformer, Bolster Supply In Sagamu, Others

More power for electricity customers in Sagamu and its environs, as the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) successfully energised a newly installed T3 1x60MVA 132/33kV power transformer in its Sagamu 132/33kV Transmission Substation in Ogun State.

TCN General Manager, Public Affairs, Mrs. Ndidi Mbah in a statement on Friday said, the 96MW 132/33kV transmission Sub-station now has the capacity to wheel144MW with the addition of the newly energized T3 1X60MVA transformer.

Mrs. Mbah noted that the direct beneficiaries of the project were the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) customers in Sagamu, Ogijo, Remo, and Ikenne areas of the state.

She informed that the, “projects also completed recently in the region include a newly constructed control room and the installation of a T4 1X60MVA 132/33kV power transformer which was recently energized at the Sagamu 132/33kV Transmission Substation on Thursday, 8th June 2023.

“Similarly, another T1 1X60MVA 132/33kV power transformer was recently installed and energized on Saturday, 6th May 2023, upon the completion of the new Oluewu 132/33kV Substation in Oyo State”, Mrs. Mbah said.

According to her, the increase in transformer capacity means more power for IBEDC to offtake and distribute to its customers in Sagamu and environs.
