Saudi Arabia Declares Wednesday Eid-El-Fitr

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has declared Wednesday as the first of Shawwal and Eid day, commemorating the completion of the 2024 Ramadan fast.

The Kingdom’s foremost news medium, Haramain News in a statement on its X handle said, “The crescent moon was NOT sighted in Saudi Arabia. Therefore, Eid Al Fitr will be celebrated on Wednesday, 10th April 2024.”

This is implies hat the Ramadan fast would be 30th while the first of Shawwal would be on Wednesday.

Sultan of Sokoto and President of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Muhammad Saad Abubakar, had directed Muslim faithful to look out for a new crescent of Shawwal.

Meanwhile, the Federal Government of Nigeria had declared Tuesday, April 9th and Wednesday April 10th as public holidays to celebrate Eid Al Fitr.
