Security: Defence Minister Promises ‘Remarkable’ Changes Within One Year

The Minister of Defence, Muhammed Badaru Abubakar, has promised to ensure remarkable changes for the better in the country’s security architecture within one year.

Badaru stated this on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, alongside the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, on the occasion of the assumption of office at the Ship House, Ministry of Defence, Abuja.

TheFact Day recalls that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had on Monday sworn in 45 members of his cabinet, whom he congratulated, saying he picked them to help him run the affairs of his administration, but that they would be closely monitored to deliver on their mandates.

Badaru assured the public that for the sake of the country, he and the minister of state could not afford to betray the trust given to them by the President who, along with all Nigerians, is desperate to see that the nation’s security is ensured.

Matawalle on his part gave an assurance that the ministry would spare no efforts in building a strong defence apparatus capable of handling any threats.
