President Bola Tinubu has commended the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, for his contributions to the development of Nigeria’s maritime sector as he celebrates his birthday.
Tinubu, in a congratulatory message issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, praised the minister’s efforts to advance the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda through initiatives aimed at boosting investment, creating jobs and improving efficiency in the maritime industry.
The President described Oyetola as an experienced technocrat, shrewd administrator and committed patriot whose years in the private and public sectors had contributed to Nigeria’s development.
He noted that the minister’s wealth of experience in the insurance industry, public administration and political leadership had positioned him to contribute to the transformation of the marine and blue economy sector.
“Your years of service to our country as an insurance icon, public servant and political leader demonstrate your commitment to the development and prosperity of Nigeria,” Tinubu said.
The President said Oyetola had brought experience and dedication to his role as minister, particularly in efforts to make the maritime sector a major driver of economic growth, investment and employment.
“As Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, you brought experience and dedication to the task of transforming our maritime sector into a major driver of economic growth, investment and employment.
“I commend your contributions to the Renewed Hope Agenda, and I encourage you to remain steadfast in the service of our nation,” he stated.
Tinubu also recalled Oyetola’s career trajectory, which included his notable years in the insurance industry, his appointment as Chief of Staff to the Osun State Governor and his eventual
election as governor of the state.
He urged the minister to sustain his commitment to national development, while praying that God would grant him good health, wisdom and many more years of service to Nigeria and humanity.
