Troops of the Nigerian Army have destroyed a suspected kidnappers’ hideout in Edimogbo Forest, Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area of Kogi State, recovering 1,000 rounds of ammunition, six motorcycles and other items.

The Army said on Monday that the operation was conducted by troops of the 21 Battalion Quick Reaction Force following credible intelligence on the presence of suspected kidnappers in the forest.

According to the statement, the suspects fired a shot to alert other gang members as troops approached their hideout before fleeing deeper into the forest. Although the troops pursued them without making contact, they destroyed the camp and its supporting structures.
