The cancellation was confirmed by the artist himself on Friday via his Instagram Stories, where he shared a screenshot from the official ticketing platform showing that multiple shows, including tonight’s performance in Minneapolis (November 28) and the December 1 concert in Chicago, had been cancelled.

The controversy began earlier this month when Burna Boy, on a live performance, call out a female fan in the front row for appearing to sleep during his set.

“You’re killing the vibe,” he said, before security escorted the woman and her companion out of the venue in front of thousands of attendees.

The fan later revealed she had recently lost someone close to her, sparking outrage online.
Critics accused the Grammy winner of being insensitive and arrogant.

Amid the struggles, old clips resurfaced of Burna Boy stating he only wants “rich fans” and doesn’t “beg anyone to like” his music, further fueling accusations of pride and rudeness.

While tour organizers have not officially stated the reason for the cancellations, fans online are saying the move comes as a result of public pressure.

The remaining shows in cities including Boston and Atlanta are now in doubt.
